Full Job Description

As Commercial Manager, you will take overall commercial responsibility for the Kent contract, moving from a hands-on commercial delivery role into a true leadership position. You will set the commercial strategy, embed best practice and play a key role in building long-term client relationships.

This role offers genuine progression and support for someone stepping up, with the chance to:
- Lead and shape the commercial function on a major long-term contract
- Develop and mentor a growing commercial team
- Work closely with operations, supply chain and the client to drive value and performance
- Influence contract strategy, governance and commercial culture

This is not a back-office role - you'll be visible, operational and commercially influential across sites, depots and offices., Overall commercial leadership of the Kent contract
- NEC3 / NEC4 contract administration and governance
- Commercial risk management, reporting and forecasting
- Client relationship management and dispute avoidance
- Valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Leading Early Warning and Compensation Event processes
- Supporting delivery teams on operational and capital works
- Developing, mentoring and managing the commercial team

A Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing QS ready to step into a Commercial Manager role
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying
- Strong NEC3 / NEC4 experience (Term Service Contracts ideally)
- Background in highways, infrastructure, civils or utilities
- A collaborative commercial mindset with sound judgement
- Someone comfortable being office, depot and site based
- Natural leader with ambition to grow their career long-term
