Full Job Description
At Leeds Bradford Airport, our lounges play an important part in helping passengers start their journey positively. As Commercial Assistant, you will help deliver a welcoming and well-managed lounge experience, supporting passengers throughout their time in the lounge while contributing to the day-to-day operation of the service. You'll be joining one of the UK's fastest-growing regional airports, committed to employing high-quality people who share our dedication to excellent customer service. Living our values to Be the Best, Work as One Team, and Do the Right Thing, you will work closely with operational and commercial teams across the airport, helping maintain high service standards while supporting the continued growth of the airport's commercial offering. What your day to day will be like In this role, the majority of your time will be spent managing the front desk operation and ensuring the smooth running of lounge entry. You will greet guests, check them in using the Lounge Entry System (Synergi), and ensure all entries are accurately recorded. You will also monitor and control lounge capacity, acting as a gatekeeper to ensure occupancy levels remain within set limits, while handling guest queries and directing any issues or service requests to the lounge operator where required. Alongside this, you will support the commercial performance of the lounge by promoting and selling lounge entry, upgrades, and ancillary products to help meet defined revenue and footfall targets. You will manage payments, including cash and card transactions, ensuring all takings are accurately recorded and banked. You will also produce daily operational reporting, maintain accurate records, and liaise with the third-party lounge operator to support the effective running of the service.
We're looking for someone with experience in a customer-facing or commercial role who can confidently support the smooth running of lounge operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience in a customer service or hospitality environment, ideally with some exposure to sales or commercial activity.
- Strong commercial awareness, with experience of working towards targets and KPIs.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with customers, colleagues, and third-party operators.
- Salary: £26,043.93 (£13.50 per hour)
- Hours & Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, 4 on 4 off shift pattern (roughly 182 days off per year before annual leave)
- Career Progression: Opportunities to grow within the commercial team and the wider airport.
- Unique Experience: You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in customer experience, sales, and customer delivery within a fast paced, commercial environment at one of the UK's fastest growing airports. What we are looking for
