Full Job Description
We're looking for a commercially minded Commercial Finance Analyst to join our growing Commercial Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified accountant who's ready to take the next step in their career, working closely with senior stakeholders and gaining genuine exposure to the commercial drivers of a fast-paced business. You'll play a key role in helping us understand performance, identify opportunities, and make better business decisions through insightful analysis and reporting. We're looking for someone who's naturally curious, loves solving problems with data, and is keen to develop into a trusted finance business partner. For the right person, we'll also provide support towards completing your CIMA qualification, helping you continue your professional development while building a successful career with AO.Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing As our Commercial Finance Analyst, you'll turn data into actionable insight, helping our commercial and operational teams understand performance and drive improvement across the business. You'll:
- Deliver accurate, reliable reporting and analysis that supports strategic and operational decision-making.
- Own the daily, weekly and monthly reporting for our recycling operations, with a particular focus on our appliance recycling facility at Halesfield.
- Partner with colleagues across Commercial Finance to provide meaningful insights and build commercial understanding throughout the business.
- Develop a deep understanding of how AO Recycling operates, identifying key profit and cost drivers and making recommendations to improve performance.
- Maintain and enhance consolidation templates used for AO Group Finance reporting.
- Create and develop KPI reporting that helps stakeholders make informed decisions and improve results.
- Work closely with our IT Projects team to help automate reporting, making information more accessible, accurate and timely.
- Deliver regular reporting to stakeholders across the business, ensuring it is completed accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with operational teams to identify process improvements that drive both commercial and operational efficiencies.
- Support the Senior Commercial Manager with month-end processes and performance reviews.
A degree in Finance, Business or a related subject (2:1 preferred). - Experience of working in a finance, commercial or analytical role.
- A commitment to studying towards a CIMA qualification.
- Advanced Excel skills and a keen interest in using AI to work smarter.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with the drive to learn and develop.
