This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and motivated accounting professional to join the College's Finance Directorate on a temporary basis to cover parental leave. College Accountant (Parental Cover)

Working closely with the Financial Controller and Assistant Principal Finance & Resources, you will play a key role in supporting the College's financial sustainability, ensuring robust financial systems, and delivering high-quality financial reporting.
The postholder will take a leading role in delivering the College's Finance Strategy, while developing and maintaining effective financial policies and procedures. You will manage a small team, and provide timely, accurate and insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making across the College.
Salary Details: BS34-37 (currently £42,543 - £45,870)

Hours of work: Full-time 37 hours per week, You will line manage staff within the accounts department and play a key role in ensuring financial compliance, developing financial reporting tools, maintaining financial regulations, preparing VAT returns, and overseeing treasury management.

Qualifications: It is essential to hold an appropriate accounting qualification at level 4 or above (relevant CCAB qualification), The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing annual financial statements ( financial_accounts.pdf ), be the main point of contact for external auditors, monitoring key financial performance areas, preparing budgets and forecasts, and producing accurate financial information for Governors and budget holders., This is a varied and rewarding position for someone who is proactive, highly organised and able to work at a senior decision-making level. Strong communication and people management skills are essential, as is the ability to work accurately under pressure and to tight deadlines. The successful candidate will demonstrate a driven, professional and team-focused approach.
