Support Your Local Community as a Collection Tin Volunteer We are looking for friendly, reliable and community-minded volunteers to help raise vital funds for Ashgate Hospice by placing, monitoring and collecting donation tins across the local area. This is an essential outward-facing role, helping us build strong relationships within the community while raising funds that directly support patients and families across North Derbyshire. Department: Community Fundraising Location: Various community venues and local businesses Time Commitment: Flexible - typically a few hours per month depending on number of tins/area allocated What You'll Be Doing As a Collection Tin Volunteer, you'll play a key part in supporting our fundraising efforts by:

  • Placing authorised donation tins in shops, businesses and community venues
  • Maintaining positive relationships with participating businesses
  • Keeping accurate records of tin locations and collections
  • Returning donated funds securely and promptly
  • Thanking and engaging venues to encourage ongoing support
  • Sharing leaflets, posters and information about hospice events and campaigns
  • Acting as a positive ambassador for Ashgate Hospice at all times
  • Reporting any issues or opportunities to the Community Fundraising team
  • Your support helps ensure our hospice can continue providing compassionate care to those who need it., No previous fundraising experience is required - full guidance and support will be provided. What's in It for You?

  • Important Information
  • Volunteers must be aged 16-75 (insurance requirement)
  • All volunteers must attend:
  • Voluntary Statutory Training (3 hours)
  • Ashgate Hospice Induction (3 hours)
  • Confidentiality around patient and hospice information is essential
  • Access to transport is required for this community-based role

  • Have access to transport to complete community visits (business-use insurance required if using own vehicle)
