Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team, supporting people of working age who have a learning disability, autism and young adults leaving care, get into paid employment., You'll work closely with local employers, and stakeholders building and maintaining strong relationships which lead to paid work opportunities. It's a fast paced role, working with a range of people to deliver results that count. You'll Identify and pursue appropriate and relevant job opportunities with and for individuals, and develop sound knowledge of in-work benefits, liaising with a range of departments and sectors as well as giving reliable advice to people and families.

You'll need to be self-motivated, able to work on your own initiative as well as part of the wider team with the energy and drive to deliver results whilst establishing this new team. Key to success in this role will include:

  • Excellence in building relationships with adults with learning disabilities, autism, their families, support networks, employers, professionals, and senior stakeholders
  • Confident in a range of communication styles, including cold calling employers and offering Disability Awareness information to potential and current employer partners.
  • Proficient in using IT systems including Microsoft Office suite, case management systems, and database management. Ability to maintain accurate electronic records.
  • Knowledge of employment support approaches including job coaching and supported employment methodologies.
  • Understanding of employment legislation and reasonable adjustments.
  • Ability to travel across the county in order to meet the needs of the service., In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
