Full Job Description

As a Coach Driver, you'll safely deliver reliable and comfortable long-distance journeys for customers travelling across the UK. You'll operate modern coaches on a variety of UK-wide routes while providing a professional and friendly customer experience throughout every journey. This role offers a more varied and enjoyable style of driving, with a mix of motorway, city, and open-road routes. Shifts operate across Monday to Sunday on a rota basis, with schedules planned in advance. What we need from you:

  • Hold a valid PCV licence
  • Proof of your Right to Work in the UK
  • You must be at least 21 years of age
  • Hold a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Flexibility to work on a rota / shift basis.
  • Great people skills
  • Applicants are advised that background checks will be conducted as a standard part of our recruitment process. Equal Opportunities We aspire to be a diverse and inclusive employer because we believe that diversity brings benefits for our customers, communities and our people. Valuing our differences and drawing on our collective knowledge and experience helps us develop new services, open up new markets and broaden our customer base. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome everyone regardless of social background, gender or gender reassignment, pregnancy or maternity, marriage or civil partnership status, race, religious beliefs, disability, sexual orientation, sex or age.

FirstGroup plc is a leading provider of transport services in the UK and Ireland, and a member of the FTSE 250. Our 30,000 colleagues work across the UK to provide easy and convenient mobility, improving quality of life by connecting people and communities.

You can earn over £32,000 per year with a permanent 38-hour contract. The role offers modern, comfortable coaches, structured shifts across the week, and the opportunity to enjoy more open-road driving away from traditional urban route work. With a mix of shifts across Monday to Sunday, the role also provides flexibility outside of the standard 9-5 routine, quieter roads during off-peak hours, and opportunities to increase earnings through overtime. You'll become part of a supportive local team within a growing national coach network.
