Job Summary
Metrologist / CMM Programmer Abingdon Full Time
Join a cutting-edge advanced manufacturing business developing high-performance components for the aerospace, electronics and industrial sectors. We're looking for an experienced CMM Programmer to play a key role in inspecting precision-engineered components and supporting product development from prototype through to final quality control. This is a varied, hands-on role working with the latest metrology equipment in a fast-paced engineering environment.
What you'll do
- Program and operate CMM equipment (Hexagon/PC-DMIS and Renishaw Agility/MODUS)
- Develop and improve CMM inspection processes
- Support engineering teams throughout product development
- Manage calibration activities and maintain accurate inspection records
- Share knowledge and drive continuous improvement within the metrology team
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years' CMM programming experience
- Experience with PC-DMIS and/or MODUS
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to work independently
Desirable
- Fixture/jig design (Fusion 360 or Rhino)
- Statistical Process Control (SPC), MSA or Gauge R&R knowledge
- Data analysis or coding experience
