Full Job Description
The post holder will work within the multidisciplinary Neuromuscular Complex Care Centre, contributing to the care of patients with inherited and acquired neuromuscular disorders, including muscular dystrophies, motor neurone disease, peripheral neuropathies, myopathies, and other complex neurological conditions. Clinical duties will include participation in specialist outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, multidisciplinary team meetings, and the coordination of complex patient care within a tertiary referral service.
The post holder will work closely with the UGME Neurology Service Manager and the Neurology Consultant Lead for Undergraduate Education to support the delivery, organisation, and ongoing development of the UCL undergraduate neurology teaching programme, ensuring a high-quality educational experience for fourth-year medical students., The post holder will deliver high-quality clinical teaching to fourth-year UCL Medical School students undertaking neurology and neurosciences placements, supporting the development of their clinical examination, diagnostic reasoning, communication, and professional skills. Teaching responsibilities will include bedside teaching, case-based discussions, clinical skills sessions, small-group tutorials, workplace-based learning, and the provision of constructive feedback and formative assessment.The fellow will work closely with UCL Medical School and neurology faculty to organise and facilitate learning opportunities across outpatient, inpatient, and multidisciplinary settings. They will contribute to the development of innovative educational resources, teaching materials, and curriculum content, while helping to ensure a high-quality student experience.Within the Neuromuscular Complex Care Centre, the post holder will participate in specialist outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations,
multidisciplinary team meetings, and complex care planning for patients with inherited and acquired neuromuscular disorders. They will work collaboratively with medical, nursing, allied health professional, and community teams to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care within a tertiary referral service.
