Full Job Description
The post holder will be responsible for a discreet number of clinical systems covering services from across the Trust. They will manage daily support and supplier relationships and project manage upgrades or major functional changes ensuring services are always maintained. The Clinical Systems Support Officer will be based at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead, however the post holder will be required to work across all Royal Free London sites as required. At least two days of onsite working will be expected for this role. The role will involve a mix of independent working and supporting IT to deliver a smooth and robust service. The Clinical Systems Support Officer will liaise with Operations Managers, clinical leads, external providers, internal staff, and clinicians throughout the Trust. Main duties of the job To be responsible for the management of security and access control (RBAC), ensuring rights are routinely reviewed and applied to users where appropriate and in line with IG directives.Liaise with General Managers to discuss and agree improvements to workflows and processes and the implications of any changes to the wider Trust. Attend meetings with stakeholders/suppliers both internal and external (as required) To provide highly complex clinical application support to service users using most appropriate method of communication ie Teams, F2F or telephone.To be responsible for the management of security and access control (RBAC), ensuring rights are routinely reviewed and applied to users where appropriate and in line with IG directives.Liaise with General Managers to discuss and agree improvements to workflows and processes and the implications of any changes to the wider Trust.Regular liaison with other internal relevant Managers in areas such as Informatics, Coding, DQ, RTT, ensuring Patient Systems is represented in wider strategic decision making.To provide up to date and accurate reporting from departmental IT systems (as required/requested) Attend meetings with stakeholders/suppliers both internal and external (as required),
- Communicates complex IM&T and corporate issues to non-IM&T managers; negotiates with external organisations over service issues. e.g suppliers, NCL
- Analyses complex problems relating to service issues; makes judgements regarding allocation of resource for Patient Systems work.
- Plans projects which impact across the department & organisation, delivery of services for own area; contributes to medium term IM&T strategy.
- Works to achieve agreed objectives and is given freedom to do this in own way working within broad professional policies; acts without reference to manager; lead specialist or departmental manager.
- Requires standard keyboard skills/manipulating complex data at speed.
- Assist patients and clients during incidental contact within the care environment.
- Implements IM&T policies and procedures in own area; proposes changes to and redesigns local IM&T policies and procedures, which have an impact in other areas.
- Occasionally participate in equipment testing / Regularly undertake equipment testing, adaptation. Royal Free World Class Values Essential

Knowledge of a range of IM&T areas acquired through qualification to degree or equivalent level or relevant experience. - In depth knowledge and experience of the use of IT in healthcare.
- Specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience.
- Additional managerial knowledge in an IT customer focused environment Desirable
- PRINCE 2 qualification in Project Management Experience Essential
- Experience of working at a senior level within a customer focused and service environment.
- Working with staff at all levels across a multidisciplinary team in a variety of environments.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of clinical applications in an NHS setting
- Have first-hand experience of the update and maintenance of system security policies for all responsible systems
