- To promote and deliver patient centred care aligned with the Trust vision and Nursing and Midwifery strategy. To provide the highest standard of safe, effective and compassionate care through the effective use of evidence based practice To support a continuously improving service, in line with the clinical governance framework, Trust objectives, and the NHS performance framework. To continually develop professionally to ensure the post holder has the appropriate level of skill, knowledge and competence to meet service/specialty requirements. To help maintain a clean and safe department. The overall purpose of the post holder will be to provide support to the midwifery team Assists healthcare professionals Assess patients conditions through basic observations and acts accordingly Makes judgements involving straightforward job related facts or situations Able to recognise triggers on National Early Warning Scores including Maternity and Neonatal early warning scores and act accordingly Able to recognise the signs of the deteriorating patient and alert qualified staff accordingly Clerical duties associated with the efficient management of the outpatient and day assessment unit area, such as: pulling/checking/preparation of case notes/x-rays, stock maintenance / topping up, checking and maintaining stock levels, input data onto ICE, TrakCare and Badgernet and assisting the Ward Clerk and covering when needed. Be aware of health education and Public Health objectives such as breastfeeding, stop smoking and stop alcohol in pregnancy. Undertake delegated clinical care duties in relation to wound care After appropriate training and competency assessment, perform area specific clinical skills in line with core standards under the direction of a registered professional Support to vulnerable patients adhering to trust safeguarding procedures. Be able to initiate or respond to emergency situations.
