Full Job Description
We are the specialist centre for major trauma for the North Midlands and North Wales. We have put together a wide range of development packages aimed at ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Our goal is to be a world-class centre of achievement, where patients receive the highest standards of care and the best people come to learn, work and research., The Senior Clinical Support Worker should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurses. Undertaking both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent. Key to this role is the flexibility requirement for staff to work variable shifts over 7 days a week.
In relation to Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker roles, we are currently able to recruit successfully from the domestic labour market and have a sufficient pool of suitably qualified and appointable candidates. As a result, visa sponsorship is not available for this role at this time. This position is kept under regular review and may change in the future should labour market conditions or service requirements alter.,
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English. If you hold overseas GCSE equivalent qualifications, you will need to bring an ECCTIS comparability statement for you GCSE equivalent qualifications along with your original certificate
- A Full Care Certificate ORNVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (we can only accept NVQ's from a regulated awarding body). If you do not bring the above qualifications to your interview, then the interview will not proceed. The primary role of a Senior Clinical Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the wider multi-disciplinary team, in order to provide a safe and holistic approach to person centred care. The Senior Clinical Support Worker should actively contribute to the health and wellbeing of patients, staff and service users and be able to communicate effectively with sensitivity and compassion. Working independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of the registered nurse.,
- 12 months experience in a professional contract as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent, Educated to GSCE level 4/C or Level 2 equivalent, including Maths and English (ECCTIS is required for overseas qualifications)
- Hold a full Care Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (NVQ MUST be from an accredited awarding body).
