An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Primrose Unit for a part-timeexperienced Clinical Support Workerto join our oncology clinics, phlebotomy service, and chemotherapy suite.

As asenior Clinical Support Worker, you will provide guidance and support to junior CSWs and work closely with chemotherapy nurses, consultants, and allied health professionals. Together, you will deliver compassionate, individualised, and holistic care to cancer patients within a safe, supportive, and caring environment.

The post holder will undertake delegated duties involving the direct care of chemotherapy patients within the Macmillan Primrose Unit, working under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include supporting the delivery of outpatient oncology clinics, assisting in the phlebotomy clinic, and working within the chemotherapy suite on a rotational basis.

All new staff will be subject to a probationary period covering first 6 months in post. Travel between hospital sites may be required. 1. To provide skilled nursing care under the supervision of the nurse providing care, undertaking routine and specifically identified tasks. This will include but is not limited to patient observation, phlebotomy, urinalysis, blood glucose monitoring and, ECG's, cannulation removal, scalp cooling therapy.

2. Requesting Blood tests on ICE as per instruction from registered nurses or medical team..

3. Undertake patient care, ensuring privacy and dignity maintained whilst being aware of physical and psychological needs.

4. Alert the registered nurse or responsible clinical team promptly of any concerns or changes in the patient's condition.

5. To rotate between chemotherapy day unit, outpatient clinics and phlebotomy clinic.

6. To prepare clinics, ensuring that all required information and consideration are given ahead of treatment/ clinic appointments to avoid any on the day delay.

7. Check all clinic areas at the end of the day for paperwork and all areas are clean and tidy.

8. Assist in clerical and administrative duties as required.

9. To action any patient outcomes following clinic reviews e.g. scanning radiotherapy sheets to tertiary centre, prescription requests.

10. Communication with patients, schedulers and parent team where changes in patient's upcoming appointments maybe required
