Full Job Description

The postholder is a key member of the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities (MH & LD) Clinical Skills Team, delivering MH & LD clinical skills training appropriate to their level of competence. They support the design, delivery and evaluation of training programmes, including management of violence and aggression, conflict resolution, deescalation and other mental health and relevant physical health topics. Through this work, they help the Trust meet its commitments to staff training, development and compliance with national and local standards.

The role requires flexible working across Trust sites and involves physically demanding activity within a busy training environment. The postholder contributes to the creation of training materials, acts as a positive role model for clinical excellence, and supports data collection for the Senior Clinical Skills Educator or Senior Leadership Team. They may participate in internal and external review processes, deliver bite sized training in clinical areas and peer assess colleagues' sessions. Maintaining upto date skills through CPD, clinical practice and independent learning is essential. They also ensure accurate maintenance of training records and information systems to support effective monitoring and communication., The postholder, managed by the Clinical Skills (MH & LD) Educator or Facilitator, supports the design, delivery and evaluation of training programmes including management of violence and aggression, conflict resolution, deescalation and other mental health related topics. They contribute to producing presentations and training materials and act as a positive role model, promoting high standards of clinical excellence.

They assist in collecting information and data for the Senior Clinical Skills Educator or Senior Leadership Team and participate in internal and external review processes, which may include delivering bite sized training in clinical areas or peer assessing colleagues' sessions. The postholder responds to straightforward queries within their speciality and maintains up to date knowledge and skills through CPD, clinical practice and independent learning.

They ensure accurate maintenance of information systems, including databases and attendance records, to support effective monitoring and communication of training activity.
