Clinical Sister / Charge Nurse - Rigby Unit

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cancer nurse to take on this specialist nursing role. You will primarily work within the Rigby Unit at Stratford Hospital although due to service demand there may be cross-site cover required for Aylesford Unit, Warwick Hospital also.

The post requires vision, innovation and the ability to work across professional boundaries, underpinned by a real desire to provide the highest standards of patient care. You will work within the day case, out patient and inpatient settings. As an experienced haematology or oncology nurse, you will be required to develop your knowledge and skills to undertake nurse-led assessment and nurse-led clinics.

You will be part of a committed team of professionals and work closely with the Nurse Consultant - Cancer Services, the Advanced Nurse Practitioners and other Specialist Practitioners within our team. You will primarily work from Monday to Friday. This may also include evenings and Bank Holidays. Flexible team working is essential to meet our service needs. This is a 12 month secondment opportunity to cover maternity leave.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work primarily at the Rigby Unit and be based within the Chemotherapy Suite.

They will work in partnership with the Nurse Consultant, Specialist Practitioners and Unit Manager supporting the delivery of a consistently high quality and cost effective service.
