Full Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Research Nurse to join Milton Keynes University Hospital's Research & Development department in this permanent role. You will be liaising with clinical teams to recruit eligible patients, support delivery of clinical interventions and conduct tests according to specific study protocols. You will also be responsible for study follow up, data entry, ensuring patient safety and maintaining high levels of quality assurance., You will have the opportunity to be involved in the set-up of new trials and will be required to work within the multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality clinical research. You will gain knowledge and experience in research, IT platforms, data management, governance processes and logistics on top of your clinical skills.

The post holder will work within the Research Team at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, with a primary aim of promoting the entry of patients into clinical trials across the Trust. The post holder will work within the Research team supporting the more senior nurses in raising awareness of, delivery, and follow-up on clinical trials, increasing the number of patients recruited in line with National Institute for Health Research high level objectives.

Central to this role is the recruitment, education and monitoring of the patient entering a clinical trial.

Contracts will be issued by Milton Keynes University Hospital on behalf of the East of England Regional Research Delivery Network

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 1 year post registration experience and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possessing good timekeeping, prioritisation skills and be willing to learn and develop within the role. Experience in the specialties of Stroke, Dermatology, Diabetes or Hepatology would be beneficial, though you may work across different areas dependent on the needs of the department.
