Clinical Research Fellow

Role of the Clinical Research Fellow:

• Provide a commitment to Imperial College London over a period to perform research leading to a higher research degree (MD(Res), MD. Ensure ALS, ATLS and PALS (where appropriate) qualifications are up to date. Provide regular resident medical officer support to Charing Cross Hospital on a rota (without cover). Provide urgent and immediate clinical support for patients in response to verbal or written requests by admitting Consultants and or Registered nursing staff. Key Responsibilities within Imperial: The post-holder will be supported by scientists to develop the necessarily skills to execute the research needed for the MD. In addition, the post-holder needs to: Plan and carry out research in accordance with the project aims. Generate and display the results and interpret their implications.   The Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College would like to recruit a Clinical Research Fellow to start in October/November within the Translational Colorectal Research Laboratory (https://www.imperial.ac.uk/department-surgery-cancer/research/surgery/groups/translational-colorectal- research-laboratory/)., This is an exciting opportunity to pursue an MD in surgery under the supervision of senior academics with track-records of internationally impactful research whilst maintaining clinical skills by providing on call cover in a leading London teaching hospital. The appointees' research work will primarily take place in the Department of Surgery and Cancer. Clinical work may be undertaken to provide on-call/cover clinics only at the direction of the Head of Department or person nominated. The appointee cannot do any clinical work outside the employing organisation.
