It is an exciting time within our vibrant and forward-thinking Department of Paediatric Psychological Services at Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust (RCHT). We currently have a vacancy in our team and would like to welcome a passionate and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist/Psychological therapist to join us. The post holder will lead the development of psychological support for children with oncology and their families, who are cared for by the Cornwall Paediatric Oncology Service. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a growing team delivering in and out-patient services to shape psychological provision for children, young people, their families and staff.,

  • To ensure the systematic provision of a high quality, accessible, equitable and specialist psychological therapies service for patients under the age of 16 years with the most complex and challenging psychological needs who also have a physical health condition (oncology)
  • To support other members of the multi disciplinary team to deliver psychologically informed care, with support from experienced members of the team
  • To act as a highly specialist resource to the wider professional community.
  • To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic clinical governance of psychological practice across the Service Lines and within the Paediatric Psychological Services team
  • To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and clinically relevant research
  • To contribute to clinical placements and teaching of psychological professionals and non-psychologists
  • To foster regional and national links with other professionals and teams providing similar services
