Full Job Description

The Memory Service in Calderdale is looking for a Clinical Psychologist with an interest in neuropsychology and experience of dementia assessment to join our friendly team to provide neuropsychological assessment and professional consultation and support the delivery of Cognitive Stimulation Therapy groups. Other duties include service development, research & evaluation, teaching/training and clinical supervision., Core features of the role will include:

Working alongside the Principal Clinical Psychologist and multi-disciplinary team to provide a high-quality neuropsychological assessment service, in order to inform the diagnostic process.

Providing high-quality professional consultation and liaison services, both internally and externally.

Administration, scoring, interpretation, report writing and feeding back of neuropsychological assessments, screening tools and outcome measures.

Working with people over the age of 18 with a range of complex presentations, including physical and mental health co-morbidities.

Contributing to service development and evaluation projects, teaching and training to non-psychology colleagues.

Previous experience of neuropsychological assessment for dementia diagnosis is essential.

Previous experience of working within a multidisciplinary team would be an advantage.

The post is 0.6WTE at band 8a and there is potential if interested to take on an additional 0.2WTE at band 8a in the neighbouring Kirklees Memory Service.

The post is well supported by our Trustwide network of older adults psychologists including local colleagues in the older peoples CMHT, crisis team and inpatient service, and the Trusts neuropsychology lead.

Neuropsychology training will be supported (knowledge and/or practice component) dependent on acquisition of future NHSE funding.

Based at the Laura Mitchell Health Centre in Halifax.
