MH Rehabilitation Services within the Specialist Network are seeking a dedicated, forward thinking Clinical Psychologist to apply for an exciting opportunity at Wesham Rehabilitation Centre.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and has proven clinical skills to provide and support the development and delivery of high-quality psychological care to help individuals achieve their personal rehabilitation and recovery goals. Your key role will be to ensure high quality clinical standards are achieved consistently by providing person-centred, timely and visible clinical input to improve outcomes for patients.

The successful candidate will be part of a compassionate and experienced MDT, that has the needs of our service users at its heart. You will be joining a developing psychology team which currently includes a Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a), trainees (when on placements) and a Consultant Psychologist who has a wider responsibility for the Care Group. There will also be opportunities to link in with Rehab psychology colleagues across the Northwest.

Main duties of the job

It is expected that the successful candidate will hold a good working knowledge and understanding of mental health rehabilitation and/or adult mental health and will be able to apply relevant psychological theory and knowledge to enhance the care and treatment of individuals within the Rehabilitation Service.

You will promote and maintain high standards of care whilst supporting and assisting to implement local and national strategies and initiatives.You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills which allow you to work well within a team and to engage with service users, families and carers coming from a wide range of backgrounds and with varied/complex needs.

As part of the MDT, you will contribute to the clinical leadership on the unit and staff skills development, promoting psychological formulations and approaches as appropriate.

A strong commitment to your own ongoing professional education and development is essential. The successful post holder will be expected be flexible where needed to meet the needs of patients and the service.You will receive regular supervision, access to CPD opportunities and be part of a supportive psychological professions network across the trust and across rehabilitation services regionally.
