Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to join a new innovative team leading the development of a digital profiling tool to support the early identification of strengths and needs relating to neurodevelopmental differences in children and young people. This is a unique opportunity for a clinician with a passion for service transformation, digital innovation, and improving pathways for families navigating neurodevelopmental assessments. As a key member of our multidisciplinary development team, you will provide clinical expertise, ensuring the tool is grounded in robust psychological theory, evidence-based practice, and a deep understanding of neurodevelopmental presentations across childhood and adolescence. As a core part of the role, you will facilitate the completion of neurodevelopmental assessments for CYP identified as having high needs, and devise suitable post-assessments care plans and support for families. Alongside the development team clinical lead, you will work collaboratively with clinicians, designers, researchers, young people, and families to refine content, shape clinical decision-making frameworks, and embed trauma-informed, equitable, and developmentally sensitive principles throughout the tool. This role would suit a psychologist with notable experience in completing neurodevelopmental assessments, is confident in working autonomously with strong skills in developmental formulation.., The main duties of the job include:
- To provide clinical expertise for the development of a digital profiling tool for children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs.
- Ensure clinical accuracy and integrity of all content, frameworks, and assessment pathways embedded in the tool.
- Complete neurodevelopmental assessments with CYP identified as having high level needs as identified by the strengths and needs process.
- To co-ordinate care plans for CYP who undergo an assessment and liaise directly with the two community paediatric teams and wider children's services.
- Champion inclusive, trauma-informed, and developmentally sensitive practice throughout the design and implementation process. This role will require the use of a vehicle.
