Clinical or Counselling Psychologist - Early Psychosis Pathway

This role is crucial in ensuring that patients get timely access to high quality specialist psychological treatments within the Bucks Early Intervention Service. As part of the role, you will:

• Provide psychological assessment and intervention for adults with severe and/or complex mental health difficulties presenting in the Early Intervention Service and their families in outpatient, community and inpatient settings as required. This may include the use of digital technology.
• Supervise and support the psychological assessment and interventions provided by assistant and trainee psychologists and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment, dependent on experience.
• Provide ad hoc advice, consultation and supervision on clients' psychological care to colleagues and other professionals as delegated by the Principal Clinical Psychologist.
• Work towards the standards, duties and responsibilities expected of a band 8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, which, if achieved in line with developmental reviews, will lead to an opportunity for promotion to band 8a.
You will excel at working autonomously, managing a caseload and taking responsibility for the governance of your psychological practice within a multidisciplinary team. You will be familiar with utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development.

A part-time opportunity has arisen for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work in our early psychosis pathway across two excellent services: Bucks At Risk Mental States and Bucks Early Intervention Service. We are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful person who is able to work within a multi-disciplinary team both independently and with initiative. We are looking for a person who has the ability to provide specialist cognitive-behavioural therapy for psychosis and the ability to use their skills to support and motivate colleagues and clients. You will have experience of working alongside a range of other professionals to provide psychological advice and consultation regarding formulation and treatment. If you have not already trained in CBTp, we can arrange for you to attend this post graduate training as part of a developmental role. In that vein, we would welcome applications from newly or soon-to-be qualified clinical or counselling psychologists who can be offered a band 7-8a preceptorship role. Please note this role is part-time working 18.75 hours per week. This role is well-suited to psychologists seeking to complement existing part-time NHS work or private practice with a substantive role within a high-quality Early Intervention in Psychosis service.
