Full Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pain Management to join our specialist service within Theatres, Anaesthetics and Critical Care. This role offers the opportunity to provide expert, evidence-based care and advice for patients with acute, complex and persistent pain across the site, while supporting safe practice, education, governance and service improvement across inpatient and outpatient pathways., The post holder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload, and carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care. The post holder will provide specialist nursing care and advice to a specific patient group, and will contribute to the development of the speciality service. The post holder will ensure cost effective use of resources.

The successful candidate will be an experienced registered nurse with strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills and a commitment to person-centred care. They will work autonomously and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, supporting pain assessment, care planning, safe analgesic techniques, patient education, staff development, audit and quality improvement. This post is suited to someone who is keen to develop specialist pain management expertise and contribute to a kind, open and improvement-focused Trust culture., The successful candidate must have 2 years' experience in surgical, theatres or critical care nursing to apply.
