Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic and accredited Liaison Psychiatry Service. The post holderwillprovidespecialistmentalhealthassessmentsacrosstheEmergencyDepartmentandacutehospital,supportingpatientspresentingwithself-harm,suicidality,behaviouraldisturbance,psychologicaldistressandothercomplexmentalhealthneeds. Youwillundertakecomprehensivebiopsychosocialandriskassessments,coordinatecareplans,provideexpertadvicetopatients,carersandclinicalteams,andactasanautonomouspractitionerwithinthemultidisciplinaryteam. Workingcloselywithnursing,medicalandalliedhealthprofessionals,youwillprovideclinicalleadership,contributetoservicedevelopment,supporteducationandtraining,andpromotebestpracticeinmentalhealthcareacrosstheTrust. - Provideexpertspecialistnursingassessment,adviceandsupporttopatientspresentingwithcomplexmentalhealthneedswithintheacutehospitalsetting.
- Undertakecomprehensivebiopsychosocial,mentalhealthandriskassessments,developingandcoordinatingappropriatecareplans.
- Actasanautonomouspractitioner,providingspecialistadviceandguidancetopatients,carers,wardteamsandmultidisciplinarycolleagues.
- Leadontheassessmentandmanagementofpatientspresentingwithself-harm,suicidalideation,behaviouraldisturbance,cognitiveimpairmentandotheracutementalhealthpresentations.
- Workcollaborativelywithacute,community,socialcareandmentalhealthservicestoensureseamless,patient-centredcareandeffectivedischargeplanning.
- Provideleadership,supervisionandsupporttonursingstaffandcontributetotheprofessionaldevelopmentofthewidermultidisciplinaryteam.
- Delivereducationandtrainingtoacutehospitalstaff,promotingmentalhealthawarenessandbestpracticeacrosstheTrust.
- Participateinclinicalgovernance,audit,qualityimprovementandservicedevelopmentinitiativestoenhancepatientoutcomesandservicedelivery.
- Promotepatient,carerandpublicinvolvementinserviceevaluationanddevelopment.
- Supportthedeliveryofasafe,responsiveandhigh-qualityLiaisonPsychiatryserviceinlinewithTrustandnationalstandards.
