Clinical Nurse Specialist (Breast)

This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse with specialist breast care knowledge and experience to provide expert clinical support to patients with benign and malignant breast conditions. You will play a pivotal role in supporting patients throughout their diagnostic, treatment and recovery journey, ensuring they receive high-quality, individualised and holistic care. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will act as a patient advocate and specialist resource, providing clinical expertise, education and psychological support to patients and their families., The successful candidate will:

• Act as a specialist for patients with breast conditions and breast cancer.
• Provide expert clinical, emotional and educational support to patients and their families throughout the patient pathway.
• Coordinate care and act as a key worker, ensuring continuity of care across services.
• Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, providing specialist nursing input into patient management plans.
• Communicate treatment plans and MDT outcomes effectively to patients and relevant healthcare professionals.
• Support patients before, during and following surgery and treatment.
• Work collaboratively with breast surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe and effective care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with professional and organisational standards.
• Participate in service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
  
  We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist (Breast) to join our Breast Care Service at The Wellington Hospital Outpatients.
  
  The Wellington Hospital Breast Unit provides comprehensive breast assessment, diagnostic and treatment services within a multidisciplinary setting. The service delivers specialist care to patients with benign and malignant breast disease, supported by advanced diagnostic facilities and evidence-based treatment pathways.
