Full Job Description

Implement processes along the patient pathway to ensure it is managedefficiently, smoothly and in accordance with targets and agreed timescales. Working with clinical areas to facilitate a co-ordinated and streamlined pathway of care which revolves around the patient and their family's individual needs. Provide robust timely and comprehensive assessment and personalised care planning. Support the delivery of pre- and post-operative nursing care and personalised discharge planning. Co-ordinate and deliver comprehensive arrangements for communicating with patients and their local teams (who may be located far away).   • Registered Nurse Degree level
  • NMC registration
  • Post registration qualification appropriate to cancer speciality
  • Evidence of continued professional development relevant to clinical area
  • Desirable
  • Recognised teaching qualification or working towards
  • Masters degree or working towards
  • Fundamentals in Cancer Care (Level 7 module) or equivalent
  • Advanced communication skills qualification
  • Level 2 Psychology skills certificate, Relevant post registration experience at band 6 or above in oncology or tumour site related clinical area
  • Previous experience of teaching and developing teaching materials
  • Demonstrate evidence of highly developed clinical practice with experience of dealing with complex clinical scenarios and interpreting complex needs of patients
  • Desirable
  • Previous experience working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist
  • Experience in audit and research
  • Ability to lead and influence change
  • Experience and knowledge in colorectal surgery
  • Experience in running nurse-led clinics
