Full Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Nurse Manager to lead the dedicated multidisciplinary team on Avebury Ward on a permanent, full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key leadership role within a supportive and forward-thinking service, delivering high-quality care within a low secure inpatient setting.
Avebury Ward is an 18-bed Low Secure male ward, providing assessment, treatment, and care for men experiencing acute mental health difficulties who require intensive support, stabilisation, and active risk management. The ward supports individuals during the acute phase of their illness while promoting recovery, safety, dignity, and independence.
The environment is designed to meet individual needs, with a strong emphasis on risk assessment, recovery-focused care, and collaborative working. The expected length of stay is 12-26 weeks, with structured CPA reviews at 72 hours, 12 weeks, and 6 months to support care planning and onward pathways.
The Clinical Team works closely with community services to plan discharge and determine the most appropriate next stage of care, including decisions around ongoing low secure treatment or return to prison or PICU where appropriate., The Clinical Nurse Manager will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to all ward-based staff and ensuring the MDT provides a consistent approach., 1. To establish and maintain communication, with various individuals and groups of patients, carers and staff on complex potentially stressful topics in a range of situations.
2. To develop knowledge and practice on the ward and across the service.
3. To promote best practice in health, safety and security.
4. To develop and improve services.
6. To enable people to exercise their rights and promote their equality and diversity.
7. To ensure the ongoing assessment of people's care needs on the ward.
8. To ensure that the planning, delivery and evaluation of care programmes addresses the complex and changing needs all patients.
9. To develop and sustain partnership working with individuals, groups, communities and agencies.
10. To lead the ward team in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice.
11. To allocate, coordinate, monitor and assess the work of the team and individuals
12. Adhere to NMC Code of Professional Conduct guidelines and requirements, promoting the highest standards of conduct and maintaining knowledge of current issues and changes in professional practice.
