Clinical Lead

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Clinical Lead to join our dedicated team at our Coalway Lane service, a 20-bed Mental Health Rehabilitation and Recovery service supporting adults with complex mental health needs. About the role As Clinical Lead, you will work closely with the Service Manager to help lead and develop the service, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, person-centred care. You will provide clinical leadership to the nursing and support teams, oversee quality and governance processes, and ensure residents receive support that promotes
positive recovery outcomes. You will play a key role in fostering a positive culture, supporting staff development, managing risk, and maintaining high standards of care across the service. The role also includes deputising for the Service Manager when required. Key responsibilities Provide clinical leadership and support to the multidisciplinary team. Support the Service Manager with the organisation and development of the service. Ensure care is person-centred, outcome-focused, and promotes dignity, independence, and recovery. Manage, support, and develop a team of nursing and support staff. Monitor service quality, undertake audits, and contribute to governance processes. Oversee medication management and ensure safe clinical practice. Identify, manage, and escalat risks appropriately. Support student nurses and newly qualified nurses through coaching and mentoring. Monitor performance, resources, and service delivery against agreed objectives. Deputise for the Service Manager when
required. About you We're looking for a compassionate and resilient leader who is committed to delivering high-quality mental health care and supporting people with complex needs to achieve their goals. Registered Mental Health Nurse Nurse (NMC First Level Registration). Significant experience working with adults with complex mental health needs. Strong understanding of mental health legislation, including the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding responsibilities. Experience of robust risk assessment and risk management. Sound knowledge of mental health medications and clinical decision-making. Experience of leading teams and achieving positive clinical outcomes. Excellent communication, relationship-building, coaching, and mentoring skills. Ability to work confidently in complex and sometimes challenging environments.
