Full Job Description

Across the Trust, our Endoscopy departments perform a variety of standard and advanced Endoscopic procedures for both out-patients and in-patients including; gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastroscopy (PEG) insertion, oesophageal stenting and ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography). Other specialist work is also undertaken by individual consultants. Our departments are presently offer a 7 day service including bank holidays. Our current hours of opening are 8am until 7pm.,

  • To decontaminate and process endoscopes and other equipment.
  • To assist in the delivery of safe patient care, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • To contribute to the efficient running of the endoscopy unit as directed by the Registered Nurse
  • To assist in the induction of new staff as directed by the Registered Nurse.
  • To undertake delegated duties related to patient care that contribute to their treatment plans.
  • To support patients and their families with care and compassion at all stages of their procedure.
  • To promote and uphold the privacy, dignity, rights, health and wellbeing of people accessing our services.
  • To work in accordance with Trust policies and procedures and operate within the boundaries of the role and sphere of assessed competencies.
  • To maintain standards of work and care through regular updates.

    Louth County Hospital serves the communities of Louth and the local area. The Endoscopy Department has had recent expansion. An outpatients department as well as an Urgent Treatment Centre, x-ray, MRI, physio and Archer Ward.
  • Lincoln Hospital is a thriving university city and with the opening of the medical school, it provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service. United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been granted teaching hospital status, after demonstrating evidence to significant teaching commitment. From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services. Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county. This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations. The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
