Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? Join us as a Health Care Support Worker on OPUSS Ward- Older Persons Unit Short Stay and start your career in a role that's both rewarding and meaningful., As a Clinical Healthcare Support Worker you will be a core member of the team delivering personal care, both clinical and non-clinical, to patients. You'll also be key in supporting patients with their own self-care and independence. You'll work under the guidance of a healthcare professional such as a nurse and your job will vary depending on the ward you are based. Your daily duties will be varied to include:
- Delivering personal care such as helping patients get up, washed and dressed, taking patients to the toilet, helping at meal times
- Contribute to patient assessments such as blood pressure monitoring, oxygen saturation levels, body temperature
- Recording your actions accurately in patient notes.
We are looking for a caring and compassionate applicant who has great communication and teamwork skills; willingness to learn and a genuine interest in working within elderly care., You need to be able to understand and communicate both verbally and in writing in English - You don't need any formal qualifications in maths but you will need to have numerical and analytic skills to do patient observations
- You will need to have a customer focused approach which is essential to providing patients with the best possible experience
- You will need to be able to use IT systems and databases (training is provided)
- You will have the skill to focus on the details with the ability to spot problems. You will know when you are able to correct or when to escalate.
