Full Job Description
This post is a full time, fixed term appointment at SpR level in Luminal Gastroenterology and General Medicine at the Bristol Royal infirmary. The post is initially for a 12-14 month period, with the option to extend if appropriate and assuming progress is satisfactory., The Department of Gastroenterology offers exposure to the regional intestinal failure service, experience in working in complex inflammatory bowel disease and in luminal research. The clinical aspect of the post can be tailored to the needs of the post-holder with the aim to provide 2 outpatient clinics per week, seeing both new and follow up patients (inflammatory bowel disease, nutrition and general luminal gastroenterology), supervised by a consultant from the gastrointestinal team. A regular endoscopy list will also be timetabled with additional endoscopy experience available via the daily acute GI bleed lists and adhoc inpatient lists. The remaining clinical time will be spent supporting inpatient work in gastroenterology., children, young people and vulnerable adults.
