Clinical Fellow (ST3) in Acute Medicine

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine at registrar level (IMT3/ST3 equivalent) based at Yeovil District Hospital. This role is ideal for doctors looking to gain Tier 2 decision-making experience and progress towards higher specialty training in Acute Internal Medicine. You will work within a busy Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), supported by experienced Acute Physicians, delivering high-quality care for acutely unwell patients.,

• As a Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine, you will:
• Act as a Tier 2 senior decision maker in AMU and SDEC
• Assess and manage acute medical admissions efficiently
• Support operational flow and clinical decision-making
• Supervise junior doctors (F1--IMT2)
• Deliver teaching and feedback
• Perform core procedures including:
1. + Lumbar puncture + Chest aspiration/drain insertion + Ascitic taps + Cardioversion (with supervision as appropriate)
• Participate in the Acute Medical Registrar on-call rota (approx. 1:13)
