Applications are invited for an Interventional Radiology Fellow to join the Imaging and Medical Physics Group at University Hospitals Birmingham. This post supports the expanding interventional radiology service based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. Accredited radiology training is essential, and the successful candidate will gain subspecialty experience under the supervision of the Interventional Radiology team. The fellow will contribute to general radiology and participate in the Interventional (SpR) on call rota. Applicants must be on, or eligible for, the Specialist Register for Clinical Radiology., The successful candidate will work alongside a team of experienced Consultant Interventional Radiologists, delivering a broad range of IR procedures across our major tertiary hospitals. The fellowship provides hands-on training, supportive supervision, and exposure to both core and advanced techniques, including

  • GMC registered doctor (or eligibility)
  • FRCR or equivalent qualification with a strong interest in Interventional Radiology
  • Commitment to high quality clinical care, teamwork, and continuous learning
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork Value a supportive, inclusive and forward-thinking working environment. This post is ideal for senior radiology trainees (ST5+ or equivalent) seeking to consolidate and extend their IR skillset ahead of consultant practice.
