Full Job Description

Management of in-patients, out-patient clinics, ward rounds, radiological and transplant MDT's.

Elective and emergency operating lists: including living and deceased donor transplantation, laparoscopic living donor nephrectomy, general surgery (hernias/ polycystic nephrectomy), transplant nephrectomy, vascular access and peritoneal dialysis surgical procedures.

Outpatient clinic duty includes recipient evaluation clinics, living donor evaluation and post-transplant follow-up clinic.

Audit/ Quality improvement activities

Royal Free Hospital:

The postholder will have the following duties: -

Out-patient clinics- assessment of CKD patients requiring vascular access or peritoneal dialysis and work-up for renal transplantation

In-patient and day case operating lists

Care of renal transplant in-patients

Attendance and presentations at multidisciplinary meetings (transplant listing, vascular access, histopathology, radiology and review of deceased-donor offers)

Participation in the audit and governance activities of the department

This unique fellowship will provide exposure to two leading London transplant centres. One year spent at West London Renal Transplant Centre (Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust) and one year at the Royal Free Renal Transplant Centre.

This post is ideal for those aiming to consolidate existing experience in renal transplantation. The successful candidate will join collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams in both centres and gain exposure to all aspects of pre- and post-transplant care, in living and deceased donation. This is a clinical fellowship. Additionally, fellows will be encouraged to complete and present audit and research output. Depending on experience £45,715 - £69,976 per annum +LDN Weighting + 1A banding (50%)
