Full Job Description
You'll work closely with our consultants, specialty doctors and wider clinical team to provide specialist palliative care.,
- Providing high-quality specialist palliative medical care to hospice inpatients.
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient-centred care.
- Participating in the first on-call rota for ward patients (currently 1:6).
- Supporting junior medical colleagues, including GP trainees.
- Contributing to clinical governance, quality improvement and clinical audit.
- Participating in teaching and education for healthcare professionals and students., 1. To work as part of the Hospice medical team to assist in the provision of a palliative medicine service to St Wilfrids Hospice. 2. To support the clinical team, especially ward based junior doctor playing an incrementally senior role on the ward as experience is gained. 3. To be involved in teaching and learning, in clinical audit and other governance activities. 4. To gain experience and skills in palliative medicine, across hospice and community services, to equip the postholder to apply for formal higher training posts in the specialty, alternatively to enhance prospects and clinical skills for future trainees in medicine or general practice.

- -Full GMC Registration
- -Postgraduate diploma (e.g. MRCP or MRCGP) or working towards one
- -Two years UK-based postgraduate experience at senior house officer/ST level
- -Experience of caring for patients approaching the end of life in hospital, community or hospice settings.
- -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- -Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
