Full Job Description

These posts are available from August 2025 and will be for 6-12 months duration depending on applicants preference. Advert Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the peri-operative care of patients in their sub-specialty interest areas. Work will be a mix of training lists and solo lists with more distant supervision, dependent on levels of skill and experience. In addition to theatre lists, fellows will contribute to service delivery and governance by partaking in projects, such as service development and quality improvement projects. There will also be opportunities to organise and deliver teaching sessions to the department and to the wider multi-disciplinary team. Fellows will provide on call cover on a 1 in 8 rota covering either theatres, obstetrics or intensive care, with supervision from the consultant on call. Working for our organisation, All fellows will be expected to deliver peri-operative care in their sub-specialty area with consultant supervision

  • Carry out pre-operative assessment including working in high risk clinics and presenting in MDT meetings.
  • Work on projects to improve the service, such as service development projects and quality improvement
  • Deliver teaching to the department in sub-specialty area - departmental meetings and trainee teaching
  • Provide on call cover with distant supervision in either theatres, obstetrics or intensive care on a 1 in 8 basis
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Deliver high standards of patient focussed care
  • Work to the Trust's objectives and values

    Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years experience in anaesthesia and critical care, and be able to cover on calls in theatres, labour ward and intensive care with distant supervision.
