This popular Clinical Fellow post at Ysbyty Gwynedd offers an excellent opportunity to gain broad experience across Anaesthesia and Critical Carewithin a supportive and dynamic department, set in the unique environment of Snowdonia National Park.
The roles are based within the Anaesthetic Department, where fellows work alongside trainees and specialty doctors on a resident on-call rota. The posts are 12-month fixed-term positions, with a flexible job plan designed to balance service provision and professional development.
The successful candidate will undertake a varied programme of clinical work in both Anaesthesia and Critical Care. The exact balance of sessions will be tailored to the individual's experience, interests, and service requirements.
There is also the opportunity to undertake sessions with the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS Cymru) and to gain experience with the North Wales Adult Critical Care Transfer Service (ACCTS-North), depending on availability and development needs.
Importantly, the roles are open to both experienced candidates and those new to these areas, with training and development opportunities available to support the successful applicant in building skills across clinical, pre-hospital, and mountain medicine practice.

This is a full time post with out of hour's commitments. The job plan is negotiable, depending on individual's interests and service requirements.
As an example a typical job plan will include:
On-call commitment in anaesthesia/critical care/obstetrics depending on the candidates competencies
Daytime clinical work including anaesthesia/critical care/obstetrics depending on the candidates competencies
Professional development and teaching built in to each of the above.
The appointment is subject to the national Medical and Dental Terms and Conditions of service. On-call rota will be 1 in 8.
