Full Job Description
As well as an amazing clinical experience, opportunities exist for training/experience in other areas of interest such as management, echocardiography, bronchoscopy and education. The Intensive Care Unit is involved in a number of multi-centre research studies, as well as its own program of research, and trainees are welcome to contribute to this work.Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean's approval or training recognition.
The posts are part of the middle grade rota so candidates must have at least two years post-foundation experience in acute specialties which have regular contact with critically ill patients, ideally with at least 6 months at ST3 level or above.
These posts are particularly suitable for candidates considering out of program experience from their base specialty at intermediate, or advanced level of ICM training, or those requiring additional post-CCT experience in a major teaching hospital. Trainees from a Medicine, Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine or Surgery background are all equally welcome., The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
