The full range of vitreoretinal conditions are treated, in addition to novel therapies, including gene therapy, subretinal electronic implants, robotic surgery, and Paediatric vitreoretinal surgery. In addition, we have a comprehensive range of medical retina services, covering complex macular disease clinics, a focus on OCT training /teaching as well as retinovascular diseases and genetics. Here at Oxford, we participate and lead in clinical trials supported by a dedicated clinical trials unit for Ophthalmology. This department runs studies in macular telangectasia, gene therapy for retinal genetic diseases and uveitis., Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country.
