• Full GMC with licence to practice
• oMedical degree
• oGeneral training in ophthalmology to specialist level or equivalent with VITRORETINAL experience
Desirable
• CCT, CESR or equivalent
• FRCOphth/Part III/MRCOphth
Experience Essential
• oDemonstrate ability to conduct clinical and operative care in ophthalmology
• oDemonstrate special expertise in the areas of sub-specialty of VITRORETINAL
• oHigher specialist training in ophthalmology or equivalent

• oAbility to self motivate and be involved in teaching and training
• oAbility to work independently
• oAbility to organize and manage clinical workload
• oTo undertake effectively the role of clinical fellow in a large teaching hospital.
• oGood personal and interpersonal skills
• oAbility to communicate effectively through good verbal and written skills
• oEvidence of ability to communicate with patients, colleagues and staff at all levels skills should be highly developed.
• oExperience of teaching undergraduates and trainees
• oExperience of routine clinical audit

The full range of vitreoretinal conditions are treated, in addition to novel therapies, including gene therapy, subretinal electronic implants, robotic surgery, and Paediatric vitreoretinal surgery.
In addition, we have a comprehensive range of medical retina services, covering complex macular disease clinics, a focus on OCT training /teaching as well as retinovascular diseases and genetics.
