Full Job Description
Applications are invited for the post of Junior Clinical Fellow in ENT based at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. The Department has a 12 bedded Unit shared with Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. Burnley General Teaching Hospital is the centre for day surgery. The Department consists of four Consultants, one Associate Specialist, two Specialist Registrars and two Specialty Doctors. The 1^st on-call rota participation is required. There is cross cover with General Surgery, Urology and OMFS. There is excellent opportunity to participate in training, research and audits in the Department. Single accommodation is available if required.

- MBChB or equivalent Desirable criteria
- , MRCS, Basic Training in ENT, Knowledge of evidence based practice
- Knowledge of the principles of clinical audit and evidence of participation.
- Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical and surgical problems. Desirable criteria
- Publications in refereed journals, Commitment to Continuing Medical Education Management & Personal SkillsEssential criteria
- Ability to manage patients on an ENT ward
- Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with patients, their parents and other relatives and with colleagues and staff in all disciplines.
- Experience of supervision of junior staff
- Ability to lead the development of services and support best practice amongst colleagues
- Ability to work in a team with professional colleagues both medical and from other disciplines
- Flexible approach to working practices Desirable criteria
- Attendance at e.g. Death/Bereavement or Breaking News workshops and Counselling courses
- Evidence of development of leadership within the work environment, Able to travel to meet the requirements of the post (access to private transport required), You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The post is classed as non training grade but the department is fully committed to provide equivalent level of training to the post holder with a named clinical supervisor and regular appraisals.
