Full Job Description

We are seeking one enthusiastic and experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist,Clinical Psychologist, or Counselling Psychologist to join our Getting Help Service as a Psychological Therapist.The role combines the delivery of evidence-based psychological interventions with wider responsibilities that support service quality and workforce development. Alongside managing a clinical caseload, the successful candidate will provide clinical supervision and support to Children's Wellbeing Practitioners and other members of the workforce, helping to develop clinical skills, maintain high standards of care, and promote best practice. The post holder will play an active role in service leadership, contributing to service development, pathway improvement, quality initiatives, and the implementation of evidence-based practice. Working closely with operational and clinical leaders, they will help shape and enhance the delivery of psychological therapies across the service. Working within a dynamic, skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team and supported by senior clinicians, you will deliver high-quality psychological assessments, formulations and evidence-based interventions. You will conduct risk assessments, develop and implement risk management plans, and liaise with external agencies where required. The role includes providing safe, effective therapy aligned with service objectives, and engaging in supervision and ongoing professional development.Main duties of the job

  • Clinical Assessment:Conduct specialised clinical assessments and develop clear and detailed psychological formulation of the service user's presenting difficulties using evidence based cognitive behavioural models of understanding.
  • Treatment Planning:In collaboration with service users and multi-disciplinary colleagues, develop personalised treatment plans based on service user needs, assessment findings, formulation of the presenting problems, and evidence of effectiveness to support recovery goals and improve quality of life.
  • Individual and Group Interventions: Deliver evidence based cognitive behavioural therapy using a range of specialist knowledge and techniques, and adapting interventions based on evolving needs and formulations.
  • Supervision and Training:In line with experience and role development plans, provide CBT supervision and mentorship to junior clinicians and trainees, contributing to their professional development and enhancing the interventions they offer.
  • Research and Development:Support and engage in research activities as indicated, adding to the evidence base for practice, and participate in development activities and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing to Service Development:Actively engage in the improvement and development of mental health services, implementing new treatment approaches, providing insights and expertise to enhance the overall quality of care.
