Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Clinical Coding team at QVH. Clinical coding plays a crucial role in the management of the Trust as it directly influences income and forms the basis for clinical audit, clinical governance reporting, benchmarking, clinical performance indicators, information governance and medical research. The post holder will ensure that the clinical coding department runs effectively and undertake long-term planning, objective setting and the deliver of performance reviews, training, development and clinical audit in conjunction with the Head of Business Intelligence and Clinical Systems.,
- Line manage a team of clinical coders ensuring appropriate resource allocation on a daily basis.
- Provide development support for clinical coders through regular appraisal and personal development plans with targeted training and mentoring where appropriate.
- Ensure coding deadlines are met.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and completeness in clinical coding assured by audit.
- Ensure that all mandated national standards and development are implemented in a timely manner.
