Clinical Coder

The Clinical Coding Team is responsible for the extraction and translation of inpatient information using the ICD-10 and OPCS-4 Coding Classifications. This information is essential for the effective management of the Trust and crucial to the National Tariff Payment System that underpins Trust income. Coded data is also important for clinical audit, governance and research. As part of the role, you will be expected to interact with clinicians, operational staff and have responsibility for your own work load whilst maintaining accurate clinical coding quality.

To apply you must have at least 2 years' experience in coding using ICD 10 & OPCS classifications as well as having an excellent knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.,

• NCCQ National Clinical Coding Qualification
• NHS Experience
• Knowledge of Electronic Patient Record Systems (EPR)
• Interest to develop knowledge of medical terminology

• GSCE Biology/Human Biology or Basic Physiology and Anatomy qualification
