Full Job Description
We are looking for a reliable Clinical Coder to join our coding team who support our GP Practices. This role is an important part of ensuring patient records are accurate, up to date and coded correctly to support safe clinical care and practice reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the clinical and administrative teams to review patient correspondence and update records using the appropriate clinical codes. Full training on our clinical systems will be provided, and you will be supported by experienced colleagues as you become familiar with our processes. If you have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working with structured, accurate information, this role is perfect for you. Please note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship, and the successful candidate must have existing right to work in the UK.,
- Reviewing hospital letters, clinical correspondence and documents, including those of private patients whose care is managed by our tenants.
- Accurately coding diagnoses, procedures and relevant information into patient records
- Ensuring medical records are kept accurate and up to date
- Identifying and updating relevant clinical information from incoming correspondence
- Filing and work flowing documents where appropriate
- Liaising with clinicians and administrative staff when clarification is required
- Maintaining strict patient confidentiality at all times
