Full Job Description

This is a permanent full-time role in an established Primary care Psychology Service. This service provides a group programme with individual assessment and formulation across South West Shropshire mainly based in Ludlow. There are close links with the wider CMHS and the Shropshire Telford and Wrekin psychology group. We have regular topic and business meetings and there are opportunities to shadow senior psychologists. CAPs are a new addition to the psychological workforce and have an important role supporting the wider NHS agenda to develop and expand psychological provision. CAPs will manage a caseload and take responsibility for proactive care delivery decisions, within their scope of practice.,

  • To support the wider NHS agenda to develop and expand access to psychological provision.
  • Working within the identified clinical area, within an appropriate scope of practice in a semiautonomous manner to utilise psychological knowledge, research and theory to reduce psychological distress and to enhance psychological wellbeing of service users and carers.
  • Ensuring the continuing development of a person centred, recovery focused model of care, enhancing service user and carer involvement.
  • Management of a defined client caseload delivering interventions in accordance with NICE guidance and considering the needs of the carer/family.
