Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service Dispatcher

The Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service are offering part time opportunities to manage and deploy resources in urgent cases as a Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service (CATS) Dispatcher. As a CATS Dispatcher, you will be managing a constantly changing workload, responding to requests for service from the public, healthcare professionals and emergency services in a calm, caring and professional manner. By joining us, you will be making a real difference, delivering a responsive and patient focused service to people requiring healthcare advice and assistance in Dorset. This is a part time opportunity offering consistent working hours following a fixed rota pattern.

• 19.25 hours rota: week 1 = 23.5 hours per week and week 2 = 15 hours per week; full rota details in attached document, Autonomously manage and deploy resources in emergency, urgent and routine cases in accordance with national and local policy, procedure and protocol. This may include Doctors, Emergency Care Practitioners (ECP), Nurses and Dental Clinicians.
Manage and communicate with operational staff by assigning them to emergency, urgent and routine cases in accordance with the National Quality Standards. Plan and organise a constantly changing workload. This often involves allocating and re-allocating cases to resource subject to changing priorities in a timely manner. Manage patients, relatives and the general public in a calm, caring and professional manner, treating them with dignity and respect at all times Utilise several information systems in parallel for the management of patient cases and efficient deployment of resource. Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Following a review of our pre-employment checking process, with immediate effect the Trust has made the decision to no longer accept DBS checking and clearance through the DBS Update Service.
