Full Job Description

We are looking for a motivated mental health nurse to join our busy depot/ clozapine clinic at Brighton General Hospital. The successful candidate will have experience of working with people diagnosed with a severe and enduring mental illness in the community and can demonstrate competency at running busy treatment clinics. You will need to be reliable, confident, honest, flexible, and dedicated to maintaining high quality treatment delivery standards. The hours available are 25 hours per week., The role includes the responsibility of having a caseload as Lead Practitioner for appropriately identified clients and will work as part of the East Assessment and Treatment Service multi-disciplinary team in the clinic context. Regular liaison with Primary Care colleagues is also required. We also have junior staff HCAs and an STR within the clinic team who will require guidance/ supervision on a regular basis to maximise the potential of service delivery from the clinic.

  • Registered Nurse with current registration [mental health/LD/Adult], appropriate to the job role
  • Completion of Mentorship Course/ENB equivalent
  • Evidence of continuous professional development, Significant post qualifying experience in the relevant care group
  • Experience of working alongside people with complex health problems in the designated care group
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of providing a range of clinical interventions to people in the designated care group with a variety of health problems
  • Experience of working consultatively with professionals
  • Experience of conducting clinical assessments including risk assessments
  • Experience of partnership working within and across various statutory and non statutory teams and agencies
  • Experience of working within the CPA process
  • Understanding of clinical governance
  • Previous experience of working in the community. Contribute to the implementation of services, Successful candidates are normally appointed to the bottom of the pay scale unless previous NHS experience in a similar role can be evidenced., You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
