Full Job Description

We're seeking an enthusiastic Climate and National Park Strategy Officer to join our strategic planning and performance team. This role focuses on strategic planning, partnership working and climate resilience across the Peak District National Park.

You will support the development, delivery and monitoring of the National Park Management Plan and Authority Plan, ensuring they are evidence-based, aligned with national policy and shaped through meaningful engagement with partners. A key priority over the next two years will be helping to develop the next National Park Management Plan with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will also help coordinate the Authority's response to climate change, ensuring the new Management Plan includes practical climate adaptation measures and that climate resilience is embedded across plans, strategies and decision-making.

A degree or equivalent in an environmental subject such as geography, sustainability or environmental science/management.
- Experience in policy or strategy development and working with internal and external partners.
- Strong research, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Experience of data collection, analysis and evidence-based decision-making.

The Peak District National Park was the first of Britain's 15 National Parks and remains one of the most visited and accessible, serving millions of visitors and 38,000 residents. We are committed to protecting this special place for everyone to enjoy, now and in the future.

We offer flexible hybrid working (typically two days in the office and three from home), flexitime, a defined benefit pension scheme, 26-31 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, the option to purchase additional leave, volunteering leave and free parking at most offices.

This is a fixed-term contract ending one year after the start date.
