About the Trust Chichester Welfare Trust is a registered charity dedicated to the preven7on or relief ofpoverty in the local community through grants and partnerships. The Board of Trustees provides strategicoversight and ensures the Trust fulfils its charitable objec7ves effec7vely. Trustees are volunteers and meetregularly to review applica7ons, governance, and impact.The Role The Clerk to the Board of Trustees ensures that mee8ngs are well organised, effec8velyadministered, and accurately recorded, while also providing light-touch governance support betweenmee8ngs. The Board meets approximately four 8mes per year. Mee8ngs are typically held during workinghours and normally last one hour. Dates are agreed in advance.Key Responsibili%esMee%ng administra%on:
- Monitor and manage the Clerk email account
- Liaise with the Chair to prepare agendas in advance of mee8ngs
- Compile and circulate mee8ng papers in a 8mely manner
- ABend Board mee8ngs and take accurate minutes
- Produce and circulate draP minutes (ideally within one week)
- Maintain an organised record of agendas, papers, and minutes Governance support (between mee%ngs):
- Maintain up-to-date governance records, including Trustee appointments and terms
- Support compliance with governance requirements and good prac8ce
- Assist with maintaining key governance documents and policies
- Provide ad hoc administra8ve support to the Chair on governance maBers
- Support any follow-up ac8ons or correspondence arising from mee8ngs
Strong organisa8onal skills and aBen8on to detail - Excellent wriBen English and minute-taking ability
- High levels of integrity and discre8on
- Good digital skills (e.g. document-sharing plaVorms and online mee8ngs)
- Reliability and the ability to commit to scheduled mee8ngs
