Full Job Description
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
We invite candidates that are keen, enthusiastic and committed to improving patient services, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in order to provide comprehensive administration support to the district nursing service. The post holder will be working within a neighbourhood team where tasks and duties will evolve as the service further develops. It is important the post holder is able to work flexibly at times, using their own initiative and organisational skills to complete tasks. The post holder will be aligned to a specific team and is required to work flexibly in response to the needs of the service, providing cover on various sites to ensure continuity of a quality service provision. The service is made up of a wide group of administration staff who support each other and are driven to provide excellent customer service and meet organisational needs. Full UK driving licence with access to a car is essential., An understanding of the need for confidentiality and previous administration experience is essential as is the ability to work both in a team and unsupervised. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, motivated person. Flexibility is paramount as you could be asked to work on different sites or cover an alternative shift to meet the needs of the service. Strong IT skills are essential to this post as is being an excellent communicator with exceptional organisational skills., Essential criteria
- GCSE in English Language at 4-9
- NVQ L2 Business Administration, or equivalent experience, Experience of administration in an office-based environment
- Evidence of previous experience of dealing with sensitive confidential information
- IT skills including experience in the use Microsoft Office Desirable criteria
- Minute taking, Experience of EMIS/ICE/EPTS, Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work across the admin teams, and travel to other sites, to cover any absence, in order to meet the needs of the service
- Ability to deal with busy, unpredictable workloads
- Ability to maintain organisational systems
- Ability to multitask whilst working in a busy office environment and dealing with frequent interruptions
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car - to be able to travel to other sites

In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary. However, if you are applying for a post as a BANK worker, the payment must be made in full at the time of employment checks.
